Begum, a small black cat, skeptical as ever of correction

I am told the cat was behaving badly overnight. She had very little to say in her defense, and did not deign to spend the day near me. I can’t blame her, as I kept hauling guitars down from off the wall and playing along to song titles sent by a pal ahead of invitation to vocal and instrumental accompaniment at a farmers market next Saturday.

It’s entirely likely I will lose my nerve and simply go to watch my friend and former bandmate sing and play her heart out. It’s also possible that I might sing karaoke for several hours at two different places the night before. Maybe the world won’t hold together, maybe it will. If the cat can misbehave, why shouldn’t I?
