Ten thoughts on the San Francisco Symphony

001 >> I went to last night's performance.

002 >> Blame it on Kevin Smokler.

003 >> He's gotten me into scrapes like this before.

004 >> The first album I ever bought was Louis Clark and the London Symphony Orchestra's "Hooked On Classics." (My brother Erin's? Parliament's "Gloryhallastupid (Pin the Tail on the Fonkay)")

005 >> I don't know what that means in terms of where we came down on the disco/funk divide, but seriously? Pretty telling in terms of musical taste, and that's not considering where Erin's at now.

006 >> I met A. at Davies Symphony Hall. Then I got all panicked and figured no one was coming, I was at the wrong address, we'd come over to the city for nothing. I call Smokler and he comes around the corner, blogger posse rollin' deep. *sigh*

007 >> Before we got taken away to our seats for the evening's music, I put up a Facebook video and a few PhotoBooth'd pictures on Flickr. Then I got to sit next to Saturday Matinee -- both of them!

008 >> During the intermission, I got off a few more pictures and asked conductor James Gaffigan (who'd come to the Green Room to visit us) if he'd thought about starting a blog. He said his forté was music, not words. Our loss!

009 >> Gabriela Martinez beat the hall's Steinway piano down like it looked at her funny.

010 >> EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE STOP WOULD ATTEND AGAIN STOP

P.S. There's video here!

george, it was a pleasure meeting u last night. great sitting next to you at the symphony!

George you know I've loved you for a long time now. But I don't think I've ever loved you more than now for using the phrase "blogger posse rollin' deep." That is all.
