Cassandra Wilson: … yeah, I’m a fan, but a little Googling during research for a story turns up this Time-ly piece from five years ago. It opens with a paragraph limning one of my very favorite songs and closes with this statement.
“We live very segmented lives, across the board … There’s black music and there’s white music. There’s R. and B. and funk and whatever. This has always bothered me.
